Put your other ear to the other track

Oh! also:
Zak was too polite to mention his other thing on the radio, yesterday. Sammy volume two is out and he's giving a little talk at Magers & Quinn in Minneapolis tomorrow, Wednesday the 24th. The book is great. The story is this epic cartoon animal fugue that keeps building up the mystery. Go here to check it out an buy one.

Put your ear to the tracks

I was driving around earlier today delivering posters and cards for the Saltwater Weather/Eyeworks event. At some point I got in the car, turned the ignition, and the radio came on and I thought: "I know that voice." Turned out it was Zak Sally talking to Euan Kerr about the new Xaime show he just put up at MCAD. Listen here, and then book your flight if you haven't already. The show is great and it's just the earliest rumblings of this giant freight train of awesomeness that is Autoptic.

Bats

I just reorganized the flyer (bottom left of top right) for the Eyeworks/PupHouse event (one of two) we're organizing for the night before AUTOPTIC. Open Eye Theater, which is hosting us, has a gorgeous space. There are old stained glass windows out to the street and a giant yellow brick archway over the stage. They also have a giant white wall in the lobby which they have generously offered to us for the duration of the PFC/AUTOPTIC festivities for a mini exhibition. I just got word that Marijpol has agreed to send us a selection of her bat mask cutouts from Hamburg. I couldn't be more delighted.

More Cool S#*% at Autoptic

This just in: We're putting together a screening of experimental animation with Lilli Carre and Alexander Stewart's EYEWORKS, in conjunction with SALTWATER WEATHER, a shadow puppet play by Sara Drake and Pup House.

This is not okay

If I was in Chicago I would go to this:

Sonnenzimmer is having a little musical shindig and studio sale at their place tomorrow, Sunday the 14th (Vive la Liberte!) during the day. Which makes this as good a time as any to also mention that their painting and printmaking show at Lula (with Jordan Martins) is also up and is 110% awesome. So what you should probably do is go to both.
