Recent happenings in the interblob

This interview just got posted this week at Tiny Mix Tapes. Some topics discussed:
–Zen koans in the form of a gag strip
–Canadian superheroes
–Drawing the landscape of New Mexico
–Dennis Hopper's highly regarded mis-steps

Also, they used a certain image to headline the piece:

In honor of being disemboweled, and because I'm not sold out like I thought I was, the print of that image is on sale here for $25 through next week.

Two books, one with pictures by, one with pictures of me also are being released upon the world this week. One is Julia Rothman's Drawn In, which is about artist's sketchbooks. Highlights include awesomeness by Austin English, Abbey Hendrickson, Christian Defilippo and Laura Park .

The other one is Heroes and Villains, a book of photographs of artists by Tatiana Wills and Roman Cho. Gabrielle's photo is especially awesome.
And here's the cover of that one:

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

Below are images of some of the finished paintings from my recent collaboration with Sonnenzimmer. In general the process involved the folks at Sonnenzimmer starting the paintings, then handing them off to me to draw on and finish. for the last image in this list, though, the order was reversed. To see an earlier stage of the first one (immediately below) look here. The show is up through July 2.

Franklin P. Quackers

A couple of weeks ago my friends Josh and Wendy were in town. They gave a short tutorial in the study of cuteness with their duck Franklin as a model. He also met my cat and another duck that sits in my window. Everyone got along famously. More of my efforts and a few by Jeffrey Brown and others may be found here.
